Great fun for the whole family to enjoy with two trails to explore and learn about the cultural significance of this taonga (treasure) to the people of Ngāti Rangiwewehi. Hamurana Springs was originally a tribal settlement named Te Kaikaitahuna with a history dating back to the mid 1300's.
Take your time to stroll both trails and stop for a picnic or complete a 45 minute to 1 hour round trip.
The onsite golf club has a selection of food and drinks available for purchase or feel free to bring along a picnic.

The self guided walk starts with an excellent brief by a park guide, then let you wonder and see all the springs and the tall gums forest, and discover so very many lovely spots and incredible photo opportunities. A must see for all ages!
Good loop walk along side crystal clear water stream and appreciated the information boards about relevance and importance of this place with Māori culture.

Wonderful walk and picnic
Money well spent, it was a delightful walk on a well maintained track that provided beautiful views of the river and the spring it originates from. There were also tables and benches near the spring to have a picnic and enjoy he space.
