julieg10 said... The 12km access road is probably terrifying to people who booked this not realising they would have to drive it. The actual gondola ride is much shorter than the distance you cover yourself and the windows are very scratched so there is no view except when you are outside on the top. I agree therefore with the word hiking, but sightseeing and walking are pushing it. The walking track gets steep and narrow very quickly. It's a nice place for some people watching and photos but at full price it would possibly be the most expensive gondola per metre in NZ.
