  • Not quite as expected

    Experience Milford Sound, the 8th wonder of the world, with a fascinating Coach & Cruise trip brought to you by Southern Discoveries.

    becc4 said... Booked for 2 with pick up from Te Anau. We have a car, however I was excited to experience the glass roof-top bus. Booked for 10am & expected we would return around 6pm latest (2hr drive to/from Milford, + 2hr boat). There was NO glass rooftop coach/bus, just a small 10-15 person shuttle. The driver told us we would be back around 7pm as our boat would not leave until 2:30pm (moved from 1:30pm). Arrived back 7:10pm. The driver made lots of stops on the way as we had time to kill. Was starving by the time we boarded boat at 2:30pm and there was NO buffet lunch (another reason why I booked this tour). The lady at reception said the boat was too small, however there was an entire buffet set up on board. Very confusing and disappointed with my dry chicken sandwich. Overall, okay. Did not meet expectations. Next time, I would drive myself.
