Often referred to as the ‘Jewel of Wanaka’ this secluded and beautiful island is home to a range of native plants and boasts outstanding views across Lake Wanaka and it’s surrounding mountains.
Once on the island you‘ll be free to explore the grounds as you wish.
Take the opportunity to walk around the island for picture perfect photo opportunities, or simply sit back, relax and take in this magical environment and spectacular views around you.

Great trip
This was a great trip. After a short boat ride out, we had an informative guided tour around the island and the whole family had a great time. Took my 1year old and 3 year old and both loved it. Highly recommend.

Great afternoon. Enjoyed the Cruise very much.
Great way to see more of Lake Wanaka , parts which we had not seen before. We were upgraded at the last minute to the Stephenson's Island Cruise which we enjoyed very much. Instead of 1 hour we got to go out for 2 hours. Beautiful day and bigger boat. Enjoyed getting off the boat and walking around Stephenson's Island. The Guide who gave us a bit of info about the island was very informative and friendly. All and all great afternoon.

Our little excursion to Ruby Island
We were looking for a short excursion in Wanaka and decided to go to Ruby Island across the lake in Wanaka. It was really lovely, so peaceful and interesting. Our skipper/guide made our trip. The story behind Ruby Island is fascinating and we think it has the makings for a great movie!! Ruby and the folk of Wanaka really had some great fun on the Island…..

A great trip to do in Wanaka. The skipper was very friendly and very knowledgeable. Highly recommended
