Fabulous experience
Stalactites, stalagmites, and a cavern known as Roku’s kitchen offer both geological and cultural intrigue. And then In pitch‑dark silence, thousands of Arachnocampa luminosa glow worms appear above like a mini Milky Way—an awe‑inspiring spectacle. Loved every minute!

Great authentic unique experience
Based on a marae these caves are amazing. The uniqueness is instead of lighting the cave you carry lanterns to light your way as you are told the history of the caves and surrounding area. Stops at vantage points where lanterns are switched off and glow worms observed. Included are up close views of cocoon and threads just cms from you.

A Must-Do Mini-Adventure
This was such a neat experience! If you have 45 minutes to an hour to spare, I highly recommend going on this tour. I went in knowing nothing about glowworms, but the guide was knowledgeable and personable.Seeing the glowworms light up in the cave was magical -- it was like walking under a sky full of stars! This mini-adventure perfectly shows how awesome nature can be.
