Hi Alan, I read your recent review and was very upset by it. I am sorry you did not enjoy the trip and that you did not see a dolphin. I remember your trip, It was a very rough day out beyond the heads, and I remember we saw dolphins, but you didn't even get up from your seat in the back to look. I feel bad you didn't let me or the crew know you didn't see dolphins as we would have made an effort to show you. We have seen dolphins on every trip for the past 5 years except 1 trip, the one we had two days prior to your trip. That is why I felt it necessary to lower everyone's expectations. I do offer a dolphin guarantee, but not only that, a 100% satisfaction guarantee. This guarantee means that if any passenger is unhappy and did not feel the trip met their expectations, for ANY reason, they are entitled to a full refund and/or a complementary trip on the Fox II that they can use at a later date. We are the only boat in Akaroa (and I think all of New Zealand) to offer this type of guarantee. I have owned and been sailing the Fox II for 15 years and no one has asked me to refund their money. A negative review like this might make you feel better, but hurts my business/livlihood and also stays with me personally as I feel such a commitment to providing the best experience possible.
