Join us for an exciting Segway adventure around Maungauika/North Head, one of Auckland’s most fascinating historic sites. Glide effortlessly along the coastline of Te Hau Kapua/Devonport, taking in breathtaking views of Auckland City and the Hauraki Gulf.

Along the way, you’ll learn about the area's rich past—from its origins as a Maori pa (fortified village) to its role in protecting Auckland from a possible Russian invasion in the 1880s. Hop off your Segway to explore hidden tunnels and bunkers, and see the famous ‘Disappearing Gun’, a historic defense weapon installed in 1887.

The journey continues with a stop at the beautiful Cheltenham Beach and a look at Rangitoto Island, Auckland’s youngest volcano. You’ll also have some fun free-riding time in a local park before gliding back through Devonport’s charming streets, admiring its stunning Victorian architecture.

This 2.5-hour tour is filled with fun, history, and unforgettable views—perfect for visitors and locals alike!

Restrictions

  • Minimum age: 13
  • Participants need to be agile enough to easily climb stairs unaided.

    The Segway has a recommended weight restriction of 120kgs.

Bad Weather Refunds

  • If your experience is cancelled by the operator (because of the bad weather, safety concerns, unscheduled maintenance etc) you will be entitled to a full refund.

Notes

  • A liability waiver needs to be signed before the ride.

    A minimum of 2 people is required for the tour to be confirmed, single bookings will be waitlisted to confirm.


    TO RIDE A SEGWAY ON THIS TOUR, YOU MUST:

    • Be agile and able to climb stairs unaided.
    • Be able to step on and off the Segway with ease.
    • Be 13 years old or over


    SCHEDULED TIMES:

    Winter-time -10.00am and 1.30pm daily

    Summer-time - 9.30am, 12.30 & 3.30pm


    The North Head Segway tour is limited to four (4) participants.
